"Besides love and sympathy, animals exhibit other qualities connected with the social instincts which in us would be called moral."
- Charles Darwin
Volunteering - What's involved?
Offer your services, present yourself, step forward, come forward, make yourself available, freely offer to do something...
As CRO isn’t a physical shelter & most of the rescues in our care are in Foster Homes we are not going to get you cleaning out kennels or kitty litter trays!
What we need assistance with is:
Pick up & drop off donations – our days are crazy & petrol is pricey so rather than using donations to buy fuel we are asking you to assist us with this. For example: If someone in your area donates dog food – we’d love it if you could pick it up & drop it with us in Tableview.
Help us man tables or stalls – from time to time the shopping malls in the area allow us to set up a table in the mall. Or maybe a church fete or something similar. This gives us great exposure to the public, allows us to get financial and/or food donations and sell some goodies to also raise funds.
Shifts are usually 4 hours/half a day – you can help set up and man the morning shift or man the afternoon shift and help pack away again. An out going personality is needed for this as lots of talking to people makes this a success. It’s a great way for older school children/students to get involved. One of our team will always be there too and sometimes a dog or puppy too!
Donate Water – washing towels, blankets, litter trays etc is an on going thing, day in and day out.
With the rising cost of water, we don’t want to be spending the donations we receive on paying a huge municipal account. So, your water donations, dropped to Cheryl-Lyn in Tableview are so needed. Sealed water is distributed among the foster for the animals to drink. Borehole or collected rain water is quite fine for washing all the laundry we do.
Any other suggestions you may have to assist Cheryl-Lyn’s Rescue Organisation – please let us know.
